For the unversed, My Stand-In is a popular Thai BL series that the journey of Ming and Joe, who returned to life following a tragic accident. However, he faced a similar situation again and find himself between the door of life and death.
For the curious, episode 12 of My Stand-In feature Joe fighting for his life in a hospital. As he walks towards the door of life and death, recalls all the hardships that he had faced as a stuntman and his complicated relationship with Ming.

Ming finally takes a breath of relief and asks Joe to stay alive and not to disappear again. Afterwards, we witness how Ming cares for Joe during his recovery time at the hospital. In another scene we show Joe’s friend Wut and Sol visit him in the hospital and ask Joe not to worry them like this ever.
Sol then talk about how Ming and Joe grew close in the industry as he acknowledge that Joe got a second chance but he still chose Ming so Ming should protect him. To which Ming reassure Sol saying that he had already made a promised to himself about this.
As Joe is recovering in the hospital, Ming’s mother visit him and meets Joe’s mother. She reveals that she sent documents to Joe’s mother and discusses how their sons love each other.
Joe’s mother shares that she initially struggled with her son’s s*xuality but eventually realized the importance of accepting his love.
The two mothers reconcile with their sons during the visit. As Ming and Joe watch a shooting star, Ming apologizes for his past mistakes.
Did My Stand-In End on Happy Note?
Joe forgives Ming, acknowledging that taking the job leading to the accident was his own choice and asking Ming to forgive himself too.
Joe visits Ming’s parents’ house, where Ming’s father confronts him, questioning why money couldn’t buy him off. Joe promises to repay the money borrowed from Ming and affirms his commitment to Ming despite the dangers he faced.

Ming’s father, worried about his son’s well-being after Joe’s accident, asks Joe to promise not to make Ming sad again. Joe joins Ming’s family for a meal.
The story concludes with Joe taking up a lead role opportunity, with the condition that he will audition like other actors. Sol returns to Korea, bidding farewell to Joe, while Mike appoints Jim as his secretary.
The story of My Stand-In ends on a happy note wit Joe continuing to live in the other Joe’s body and officially being with Ming. The pair live together as Joe pursues his acting dreams.
As of now, iQiyi have not renewed My Stand-In for season 2 but given the ratings over the weeks, we could see a season 2 release date update soon.
