According to spoilers for My Hero Academia chapter 414, the OFA members were both amazed and disturbed by Deku’s use of the Black Whip to control his own body. Deku was able to swiftly put it into action, even though it was just an idea. Kudo claims that Deku excels at more than just following orders; he applies his extensive knowledge of peculiarities to make OFA stand out.
Though he stuck to the plan, Izuku Midoriya had his reservations because, without Gearshift, he couldn’t match Shigaraki’s pace. He intended to use his injuries to transfer Gearshift to Shigaraki. Thus, Deku had to strike fast enough to transfer the quirk in a flash in My Hero Academia chapter 414 spoilers.
Meanwhile, Tomura Shigaraki’s suspicion of Deku was beginning to grow. After the last attack, he felt uneasy and knew the boy was plotting something. Then Tomura received a warning from Danger Sense that OFA was closing in on him from behind. On the other hand, Black Whip was only carrying Gran Torino’s surcoat. When Shigaraki looked down at the Black Whip, he saw a drop of blood. It was too late by the time he understood it was a trap. By disguising himself in the smoke, Deku had tracked him down.
The traces he carried allowed Shigaraki to identify him. Whatever the case may be, Deku realized he had no choice but to approach Shigaraki, strike him in the chest, and then he was out. So Deku successfully handed Gearshift over to Shigaraki. Since Kudo was already planning his next move, he launched a meteoric assault on Shigaraki’s subconscious just before he would go.
