Football players and fans alike are eagerly expecting FIFA 23, the latest instalment of the venerable EA Sports franchise, making it one of the most anticipated games of the year but Wilfried Zaha isn’t enchated by the game and his torrid rating and stats
If players have pre-ordered their Ultimate Edition, the new version is scheduled to arrive on September 27. The normal edition releases three days later.
Several new features and gameplay improvements will be included in the game, along with upgraded squads once more. Players anticipate upgrades based on reality every single year, but Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace has experienced the contrary! The Ivory Coast international’s stats were downgraded, and he hasn’t exactly reacted calmly.
Wilfried Zaha Hits Out At His Horrid FIFA 23 Player Rating And Stats
Response from Zaha to FIFA 23 Downgrade
He wrote: “Me watching my FIFA stats get worse.” on Instagram. “You’ve been playing golf all year.”
He shared a photo of himself being issued a booking, but instead of a yellow card, it showed his FIFA card.
Zaha is only really half-right in this case.

Before receiving any special cards, his FIFA 22 rating was 82, and his FIFA 23 rating is also 82. He is now a left winger instead of a left forward. Below are some stats to compare (his FIFA 22 stats come first).
- 89 Pace | 91 Pace
- 87 Dribbling | 86 Dribbling
- 77 Shooting | 79 Shooting
- 73 Passing | 73 Passing
- 75 Physical | 76 Physical
- 34 Defending | 37 Defending
There is surely some grounds for criticism here for the Palace ace player who enjoys playing in the attacking region.
Before his FIFA 22 card was made public, Zaha scored 11 goals in 2020–21. In 2021/22, he scored 14 Premier League goals and contributed one assist.
He made progress since in just five games this season, he’s already scored four goals.
Because of this, his only boosts are +2 for pace, +2 for shooting, +1 for physicality, and +3 for defending. The former is completely irrelevant, while the shooting and physical improvements are negligible in light of the previous season’s performance for his club.
It’s absurd that he was demoted for dribbling, and Zaha himself has stated his anger. Although we can understand that, he is still among Palace’s top players on FIFA 23.
