Brett Tuggle, well known for his keyboard work with Fleetwood Mac and The David Lee Roth, passed away at the age of 70.

His son Matt verified the tragic news of his death to Rolling Stone. He stated that he was “very loved by his family,” and that “his family was with him during the entire duration of his sickness.” He was a wonderful parent. He brought music into my life.” Brett is survived by two children, Matt, his son, and Michelle, his daughter.

Brett Tuggle’s death comes just months after the passing of iconic actor and comic Louie Anderson on January 21. He had been admitted to the hospital a few days before after being diagnosed with cancer, but he did not survive.

What Happened To Brett Tuggle?

Brett Tuggle was born in the city of Denver, Colorado. He became interested in music at an early age while performing in local venues before moving to Texas. He began his career in 1981 with John Kay & Steppenwolf before joining Rick Springfield’s band in 1982. Brett Tuggle’s son verified to Rolling Stone that the guitarist died as a result of cancer problems. 

Brett Tuggle rose to prominence when he toured with David Lee Roth from 1986 through 1994. He was a founding member of the band. They became well-known for writing the 1988 song ‘Just Like Paradise.’ Brett was said to be reuniting with Roth for solo gigs in 2020. Brett later joined Fleetwood Mac during their reunion period, which lasted from 1997 until 2017.

He initially contacted them in 1992, during the Zoo, a side project of band drummer Mick Fleetwood. Brett Tuggle discussed his early inspirations in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2020. “I was born and raised in Denver.”
