IPL 2022 Venue Confirmed, Tournament To Take Place In Mumbai, India

As the days went by and the BCCI refrained from officially revealing the venue of the new season, chances of it being held in India were vanishing up in smoke. With the bygone couple of editions being both held outside the country, it looked like the Indian Premier League would once again be taken abroad with South Africa emerging as a likely destination.

However, all qualms of the IPL leaving India once again have been put to bed with a BCCI source revealing the showpiece tournament would be held in Mumbai this year. Top BCCI sources also said while speaking to ANI that the Wankhede Stadium, Cricket Club of India (CCI) and DY Patil Stadium would be the stadiums where the matches will be contested.

However, supporters will be left devoid of the opportunity to watch their teams in play with stadiums set to remain closed and matches being contested behind closed doors. All current ongoing sports events in India are being competed without the presence of supporters with both the ISL and Syed Modi International having no fans in presence.
