The court will punish Mukhtar Ansari and his brother Afzal Ansari in accordance with this ruling for their violations of the Gangster Act. The decision to postpone the verdict was made as the presiding officer of the MP-MLA court was unavailable on April 15.
Niraj Srivastava, a district government criminal attorney in Ghazipur, claims that the trial was already concluded on April 1 when the court reserved judgment.
Charges against Mukhtar Ansari and Afzal Ansari stemmed from his alleged participation in the 1996 kidnapping of coal businessman and Vishwa Hindu Parishad official Nandkishore Rungta as well as the 2005 slaying of BJP lawmaker Krishnanand Rai.

He was born on June 30, 1963, in Yusufpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father’s name is Subhanullah Ansari, and his mother’s name is Begum Rabia. He also has two brothers named Sibakatullah Ansari and Afzal Ansari, who are both politicians.
After completing his schooling, Mukhtar Ansari graduated from the postgraduate Gazipur College in Rambagh. Later, he did his post-graduation at the same college.

His career
In the early 1990s, Mukhtar Ansari was well-known for his criminal operations in the districts of Mau, Ghazipur, Varanasi, and Jaunpur. He entered politics in 1995, and in 1996 he was elected as an MLA.
Mukhtar Ansari joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in 2007, and while still jailed, he stood for Lok Sabha in 2009 from Varanasi on a BSP ticket. He was kicked out of the BSP in 2010 after the organization discovered he was still engaging in illegal activity.
In 2010, he founded his own political party, the Quami Ekta Dal (QED), and in 2012, he was accused of participating in an organized crime syndicate in violation of the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act. He rejoined the BSP in 2016 and merged his Quami Ekta Dal with the BSP in 2017.
Mukhtar Ansari has won five Vidhan Sabha elections from the Mau constituency.
