The MTV Video Music Awards 2022 was a star-studded night, know the VMAs full winners list

The ceremony was hosted by 3 hip-hop stars, such as Doin’ It fame LL Cool J, Bang Bang fame Nicki Minaj and First Class fame Jack Harlow.

The award show took place on Sunday night, Aug 28, at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

MTV VMAs 2022 Artist of the Year

Efecto fame Bad Bunny was named as the Artists of the Year at the Sunday’s night MTV Video Music Awards while Boyfriend fame Dove Cameron won the Best New artists award.

Meanwhile, Billie Eilish secured Song of the Year award for her hit track Happier Than Ever, Taylor Swift won the Video of the Year award for her song All Too Well.

While giving her award-winning speech, she also revealed that her new album is soon going to come out. As per her speech, her new album will be out on October 21.

The host of the award show, Nicki Minaj took home the coveted Video Vanguard Award, on the other hand rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers was presented with the Global Icon Award.

Speaking of Nicki, over the past years she has been continuously nominated for a total of 17 VMAs. The singer also gave a great performance on the stage including many of her hit songs such as Super Bass, Super Freaky Girl, among many others.

In her award-winning speech, Nicki opened up that she wished Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston to be there to celebrate with her as she said, “I wish that Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson were here.

I wish people understood what they were going through. I wish people took mental health seriously, even for those who seem to have perfect lives.”

The 39-year-old singer further added, “Hold on. The Barbz… the Barbz! Thank you so much! You guys are my babies! I love you guys! Thank you!”

Tusa fame Nicki is the latest musician to receive Michael Jackson’ Video Vanguard Award. In the past, the award has been received by David Bowie, the Beatles, Tom Petty, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Pink.

Many great artists shined the stage to entertain their fans as the viewers got to see performances from Anitta, Blackpink, Lizzo, Maneskin, Jack Harlow, J Balvin, Marshmello x Khalid, Panic! at the Disco, and Kane Brown.

Aside from these big personalities, the surprising factor was the collaboration between Eminem and Snoop Dogg which left everyone in awe. The duo gave a multiverse performance of their song, From the D 2 the LBC.

To surprise the fans, MTV has arranged the appearance of The Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp. The star appeared as a Moonman hovering above the stage as an augmented reality visual.

Throughout the ceremony, the Moonman kept floating on the stage randomly. Even during the commercial breaks, Depp’s reality visuals popped up on the screen.

In the first commercial, the Moonman seems to be saying, “Hey VMAs, let’s get back to the f—ing music, shall we?”

In the second commercial, he was seen saying, “I just want you guys to know that I’m available for birthdays, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, weddings, wakes, any old thing you need. Anything. You name it.”
