In a deeply unfortunate development, Neil Currey, a prominent Classic Physique bodybuilder, has tragically passed away at the tender age of 34. The tragic news was first reported on Monday night by RXMuscle, and it was then confirmed by Currey’s former mentor, Milos Sarcev.

Taking to his Instagram account, Milos Sarcev expressed his shock and sorrow, stating,
Absolutely shocking, heartbreaking news—that my former athlete @neil_currey died today…taking his own life. My last/best memory of him was this smiling face after he won New York Pro and fulfilled his lifetime dream of qualifying for the Mr. Olympia. I am lost for words and filled with pain and sadness. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. RIP Neil and God bless your soul.
RX Muscle, a bodybuilding Instagram account, also posted a tribute to Neil Currey, saying,
Stunned and beyond saddened by the tragic news that Neil Currey has passed away at the young age of 34.
The account added,

Who was Neil Currey?
Neil Currey was a renowned classic physique bodybuilder. He has been in the news because he passed away recently at the age of 34.
He was born and brought up in the United Kingdom. At the time of his death, he was unmarried and just 34 years old. He had a height of 5 feet 10 inches while his net worth stood at $1 million.
It is not known if Neil was married or if he had children as the late champion famous for his successful career kept his private life away from the spotlight. However, the late champion reportedly was in a relationship with a fitness professional.
His career
Early in his school years, Neil Currey was interested in football but soon switched his attention to weightlifting. He refined his exercise routine and followed a strict diet with commitment and drive, ultimately paving the way for a famous bodybuilding career.
At the 2017 World Championship, Currey made his professional debut in the bodybuilding world, placing impressively fifth in the pro muscle division. His perseverance was rewarded when he won the NPC Worldwide Amateur Olympia Italy competitions and received the coveted Pro Card.
Neil Currey made his IFBB debut in the Classic Physique division in 2019 with a great seventh-place performance at the Kuwait Pro. Nonetheless, he reached the height of his achievement at the New York Pro, when he won the gold medal and qualified for his first Olympia competition.
His journey came to a close as he placed 16th in the Classic Physique category at the famous 2022 Olympia competition.
