Play Magnus Group (PMG), created by World Champion Magnus Carlsen, is hosting the new MPL Indian Chess Tour in collaboration with esports giant Mobile Premier League (MPL). Leg 1 is a four-day rapid chess competition that takes place from March 31 to April 3, with games commencing at 15:30 IST / 12 CEST each day. 15m + 10s is the time limit.

Tournament Format, Rules, and Prize Money Pool

Each of the four legs of MPL Indian Chess Tour follow the same structure as the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour’s Preliminary stages. 16 players compete in rapid chess once over the course of four days (15 minutes each player, with a 10-second increment after each move) for three points for a win and one point for a tie.
