The MotoGP competition is the equivalent to the Formula 1 Grand Prix and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). It is the top tier competition in motorcycle racing.
MotoGP India 2023 format
The event features 22 riders with two riders from the rosters of each of the 11 teams. Riders compete from the start of the race till the end with no pit stops. This year’s edition will host 21 Grand Prix across the world with the upcoming race week in India serving as one of the venues.

MotoGP India 2023 track specifications
The upcoming race weekend will take place at the Buddh International Circuit, in Noida Uttar Pradesh. The track has a length of 4.96 km, while the width measures around 12m. The track features 14 corners with five corners on the left and nine corners on the right. Meanwhile, the longest stretch of road is about 1006m long.
MotoGP India 2023 championship standings
Currently, Italy’s Francesco Bagnaia who rides for Ducati leads the championship standings with 260 points. Meanwhile, Jorge Martin of Spain comes at second place with 210 points. At third place is Marco Bezzecchi of Italy with 189 points. Behind them are Aleix Espargaro (154 points) and Brad Binder (166 points) in the fourth and fifth rank, respectively.
