The WTA ranked Graf No. 1 in singles for a record 377 weeks, the longest time any player has ever held the position. She became the first tennis player to win all four Grand Slam singles titles as well as the Olympic gold medal in the same calendar year, in 1988.

Navratilova is widely regarded as one of the best tennis players of all time, having won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, 31 Grand Slam women’s doubles wins, and 10 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles for a total of 59 Grand Slam trophies.
