Assam Police have arrested Wazid Hussein, the thief who stole the Hublot watch of football legend Diego Maradona
Only a day after the Assam Police had arrested Wazid Hussein, the thief who stole Late Diego Maradona’s watch, more memorabilia belonging to the footballer has now been recovered.

The Special Director General of Police (L&O) in Assam, GP Singh revealed the information with a tweet further talking about the recovered objects which include a jacket, track pants, toy doll, squash racquet, iPads and lighters.

Wazid had stolen the limited edition watch belonging to the Argentinian footballer and his other belongings which were being stored in Dubai. He had then fled to Assam with the Assam and Dubai Police moving in tandem to snag the thief who was arrested on Saturday at 4:00 am.
“In an act of international cooperation @assampolice has coordinated with @dubaipoliceHQ through Indian federal LEA to recover a heritage @Hublot watch belonging to legendary footballer Late Diego Maradona and arrested one Wazid Hussein. Follow up lawful action is being taken,” Sarma tweeted.
As informed through Central Agency by Dubai Police, one Wazid Hussain had stolen a limited edition Maradona signed Hublot watch and fled to Assam.

Wazid has managed to snag the watch while he was working for the company which stored the footballer’s items in Dubai as a security guard. He had managed to flee Dubai for Assam back in August of this year itself.
Maradona who played for Barcelona, Napoli and Sevilla was regarded as one of the best players of his era alongside Pele. He appeared in 91 international matches for Argentina with him winning the 1986 World Cup with his country where he also won the Golden Ball.
Napoli had changed their stadium’s name after his demise to honor the player.
