2023 Monaco Diamond League schedule, date, venue, & key competitors
In the men’s pole vault, Sweden’s Armand Duplantis will be a strong favorite despite the presence of top-tier challengers like Ernest John Obiena, Christopher Nilsen, & Renaud Lavillenie. Meanwhile, the reigning women’s 200m world champion Shericka Jackson will compete against the likes of Dina Asher-Smith, Daryll Neita, & Gabrielle Thomas. After missing the majority of the outdoor season due to injury, the male 400-meter hurdles champion Alison dos Santos will compete against Karsten Warholm with the gold medal at stake.
It is confirmed that Olympic champion Malaika Mihambo will compete in the women’s long jump, which will also feature triple jump world record holder Yulimar Rojas. Elsewhere, the women’s high jump event will feature star athletes like Eleanor Patterson and Yaroslava Mahuchikh. Faith Kipyegon, who has won two gold medals at the Olympics and is the current 1500-meter and 5000-meter world record holder, will attempt to maintain her superb form as she competes against Laura Muir.
