A few seconds later, the Egyptian was forced to leave due to injury, and he hobbled down the tunnel.

Jurgen Klopp has issued an update on Mohamed Salah’s injury situation after the Egyptian went off during Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Brighton in the second half. Salah put an end to speculations of wage conflicts at the Amex Stadium by slamming home a penalty that, when combined with Luis Diaz’s opening, was enough to secure a crucial win.

To retain the pressure on league leaders Manchester City, the Reds needed three points from the south coast.

Injury Update

Luis Diaz, who has been on fire since his January transfer, got them off to a flying start with a brave first-half header that was saved by Seagulls goalkeeper Roger Sanchez.

Many believed the Spaniard should have been sent off for a high challenge, but after consulting with VAR, referee Mike Dean decided not to take any further action.

Salah hammered a penalty down the centre after the interval to give Liverpool a two-goal cushion that kept them in the game until the final whistle. When the 29-year-old staggered off the field midway through the second half, there was still cause for concern.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said  that they would see what can be done, when asked for an update after the game. He thinks it is not that serious.

He further said that when Mo Salah sat down like that then you should know that something isn’t quite right. Salah believes that it was the previous incident where he struck the ball and was blocked. Salah believes his foot became little overstretched. We’ll have to wait and see.”

Liverpool will review the situation once they return to Merseyside ahead of their Premier League match against Arsenal on Wednesday.
