Motorland Aragón, Teruel, Spain– June 6, 2025 – As Luca Marini continues his recovery in Japan, Joan Mir will be the standard bearer for Honda HRC Castrol at the Aragon GP
The Grand Prix of Argon marks the eighth round of the ever-changing 2025 MotoGP World Championship season. Set in the hills just outside Alcañiz, MotorLand Aragon was introduced onto the calendar in 2010 and has produced a number of exciting races with Honda riders winning seven premier class races there since 2011.
Joan Mir is aiming to improve on his Silverstone form and put together another complete weekend on the Honda RC213V. Aragon has been one of Mir’s more consistent circuits in the premier class with two podium finishes and scoring points on each of his race starts at the track. It will be a busy weekend for the #36 as the lone representative in Honda HRC Castrol colours with a post-race test on Monday a chance to confirm the work of the Test Team.
Luca Marini will continue to recover from his testing fall in Japan and will not be replaced for the Aragon round.
Sharing his thoughts, Joan Mir said, “First of all, I want to wish Luca all the best in his recovery. In Silverstone we saw that there are still a few areas to work on to be able to consistently show our performance, it was good to get more race kilometres and some points, but we need to do more in Aragon. It’s a track I have gone well at in the past and we can see that the bike is at a much better level this year, so I am hopeful of taking another step. The test on Monday will also be helpful for us to double check some things that the Test Team has been working on.”
