The Miami Open, formerly known as the Miami Masters is a tennis event held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, know the women’s prize money for 2022
It is presently marketed as the Miami Open presented by Ita for sponsorship reasons.
Former player Butch Buchholz, who was executive director of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in the 1980s, officially established the tournament. He aimed for the event to be the first major international tournament of the yearย and nicknamed it “Winter Wimbledon.”

The competition was soon moved to Boca West. Merrett Stierheim, Dade County manager and president of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), assisted Buchholz in 1987 in moving the event to its long-term venue in Key Biscayne for 1988.
Then, after this, the Miami Open and Miami-Dade County agreed in November 2017 to transfer the annual event from Key Biscayne’s tennis facilities to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, commencing in 2019.
This event is a part of the ATP Tour Masters 1000 tournament for men and the WTA 1000 tournament for women. The Miami Open generally takes place in March or April.
Aside from the four Major tournaments, the Miami Open is one of only a few ATP and WTA events with the main singles draw of more than 64 participants for both men and women, and the main draw play that lasts longer than one week.
The singles tournament has 96 men and 96 women, while the doubles tournament features 32 pairs, with the event spanning 12 days.

The normal service in Miami has now resumed after a reduced prize pool last year. Now the total prize fund for 2022 is $17,168,110. This is a 156.72%ย rise over the previous year.
Since 2006, the prize money for the Miami Open has been the same, with just a number of exceptions.
That means each tour is competing for a share of $8,584,055 in prize money, with the 2022 Miami Open Champion receiving $1,231,245, an increase of 310.26% over Hubert Hurkacz and Ash Barty’s payouts last year.
