In the previous chapter of the Mercenary Enrollment manga series, we witnessed him debating what to do with the hostage over the phone, who has the name “Beloved Ijin” written in his handwriting. Ijin then inquires about the hostage’s condition, to which he replies, “For the time being, he’s still breathing, but his breath depends on what you do with this.” Ijin informs him that he wishes to hear his voice, but he refuses, claiming that he has no right to do so.

After that, he promises that he will do whatever Ijin asks of him from now on to ensure success. He warns him not to seek help from anyone, and that if he does, the captor will kill the prisoner and flee. Ijin is required to answer any calls from unknown numbers because the kidnapper has stated that he will no longer use the phone he is currently using.
When he hangs up, a message will be waiting for him that will tell him what to do next. Before hanging up, the kidnapper compliments the girl Ijin is living with and asks if she is his sister.
Simultaneously, he dashes in his direction in search of Dayun, only to discover that Dayun has vanished. As a result, he receives an address via text message from an unknown source. Using this, the kidnapper threatens the prisoner with death if he does not arrive at the location within 20 minutes.
As the story progresses, Ijin arrives at the designated location and receives a call from the kidnapper, who assures him that he is not that late and has not requested help elsewhere; at the same time, he realizes that Mad Dog is watching him and assumes that Mad Dog has installed cameras in the area.
