2023 Men’s Asian Champions Trophy hockey schedule, participants, & pivotal matches
At Chennai’s Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Thursday, the Indian men’s hockey team will play China in the opening match of the 2023 Asian Champions Trophy. During the seventh iteration of the continental meet, six of the best Asian hockey teams—India, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, and China—will compete for the championship. India, ranked fourth in the world, is the best-ranked team competing and China is the worst-ranked of the six, as they sit 25th in the world rankings.
On Friday, India will play against Japan and after one day’s break, they will face-off against Malaysia. Immediately after, they will clash against South Korea and followed by this match, India will play their final league phase game against Pakistan on 9th August. Notably, India and Pakistan are the most successful teams of this competitions with three titles apiece.
