Ten teams will be divided into two pools for the Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2023, which will be played from 23rd May through 1st June in Oman’s Salalah. The countries in Pool A are Pakistan, India, Japan, Thailand, & Chinese Taipei. On the other hand, Pool B is made up of Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Korea, Oman, & Malaysia.
According to their international rankings, the top five teams, India, Pakistan, Japan, Korea, & Malaysia, received automatic qualifying. In contrast, the Men’s Junior AHF Cup, which was contested in Muscat, Oman in January 2023, saw qualification victories for Bangladesh, Oman, Thailand, Uzbekistan, & Chinese Taipei.
It is confirmed that the top three teams from this competition will be invited to compete in the FIH Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2023, which will be hosted in Kuala Lumpur from 5th December through 16th December. Throughout the history of this tournament, India have made it to the final five times and clinched the crown thrice.

The top three teams of the 2023 Women’s Junior Asia Cup will advance to the 2023 Women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, which will take place in Santiago, Chile from 6th December to 17th December. India’s best performance in this competition occurred in 2012, when they took second place. It is confirmed that the upcoming edition will have a similar 10-team format and will be played from 2nd June till 11th June at Japan’s Kakamigahara.
Pool A includes Chinese Taipei, Korea, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, & India. Meanwhile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, & Kazakhstan make up Pool B. Based on their global rankings, the top five teams—India, China, Korea, Japan, & Malaysia—got automatic qualification, while Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan, & Indonesia did so through the Women’s Junior AHF Cup.
