It was revealed that Kovacic had suffered a knock on his hamstring during the team’s clash against Southampton during the weekday. The Croatian midfielder played the full ninety minutes for his club as Chelsea went on to win the Carabao Cup fixture on penalties. It is reported that after the match he had slight discomfort, however, was still fit to play. Kovacic then went on to injure himself during the team practice ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Newcastle.
It was later reported that Kovacic will miss out on the team’s game against Newcastle and was further added to the list of unavailable players. Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of Chelsea told a press conference that Kovacic has suffered a hamstring injury and is set to miss out several weeks because of the same.
As per reports, Kovacic will miss out on Chelsea’s game going into the November international break. Further reports by Chelsea on the player’s injury have not been made available. The fans would expect him to come back after the November international break is over as they are already missing out on two of their firing guns at the top.
