I am looking forward to seeing how the characters evolve since it is an honest portrayal of a marriage of convenience involving two people who still have a lot of maturing to do. Attempts to make a marriage of convenience work are fraught with difficulty, and the story itself casts a shadow on this fact. The characters’ willingness to try new things is inspiring. For example, I don’t think the Female lead is only seeking s*x; rather, she is recognizing that having a kid is her only option for navigating the extremely patriarchal environment in which she lives.
They don’t go into a serious relationship until she’s older, there’s no grooming, and they can’t change the conditions of their marriage, so I think the age difference is more of a contextual factor than anything else. Just so you know, I find the process to be far healthier than a lot of red-flag, which by the way, I also love reading.
