Prediction
In the 2022 Prague Open, Anastasia Potapova and Marie Bouzkova are the winners. The eighth seed from the Czech Republic and the seventh seed Potapova both advanced to their respective semi-finals on Saturday in the Czech capital.
Bouzkova defeated fellow Czech Linda Noskova, a 17-year-old wildcard recipient, in the first semi-final. It took Bouzkova an hour and 42 minutes to win 7-6(4), 6-3. Bouzkova prevailed in 58 per cent of her second-serve points and 68% of her first-serve points.
In contrast, Noskova only won 41% of her second-serve points while winning 66% of her first-serve points. She was also let down by the four double faults Noskova committed. In terms of breakpoints, Bouzkova managed to win three of them while losing her service twice during the course of the game.
Potapova hasn’t trailed in any of the four rounds of the competition so far. On Wang’s first serve, Potapova won 78 per cent of the points she served and 55 per cent of the points she received in return. Additionally, she defeated her opponent’s second serve in 65 per cent of her points on return and 47 per cent of her second-serve points.
Despite losing her serve once during the match, Potapova was able to maintain her lead thanks to five service breaks. The 21-year-old defeated Anett Kontaveit, the world No. 2 and the top seed in the tournament, in the Prague Open semifinals.
Anastasia looks like a threat as of now and is expected to take advantage of her form.
