Premier League club Leeds United has extended their good relationship with Argentine head coach Marcelo Bielsa for one more. He will now have one more year to make his team stronger to be able to finish better than last year.

Leeds United have extended their gratitude towards Bielsa by giving him a contract extension as the Argentine led them to their best-ever finish in the Premier League ninth and scoring more goals than any other promoted side for 20 years.
This is the longest time Bielsa has coached any football team with his previous spells being noticeably shorter than 2 years. It will be his fourth year with Leeds United after securing promotion by winning the 2019–20 EFL Championship.

66-years-old former Argentine professional football player Marcelo Bielsa has extended his stay at the Elland Road ahead of the new 2021-22 Premier League season. Bielsa has confirmed that he is very happy with his decision and wants to build a stronger team this season pushing for Europe.
A club statement said: “Leeds United are pleased to confirm Marcelo Bielsa has signed a new contract to remain in charge at Elland Road. “The Argentine has agreed a fresh one-year-deal, running until the end of the 2021/22 season.”
Veteran Argentine football manager is often considered as one of the best managers in the Premier League right now. His team has defeated Premier League Champions Manchester City and Tottenham and has drawn matches with Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United.

His one year contract extension takes his salary up from 7 million to 8 million pounds to make him one of the highest paid managers in the league.

Bielsa began his career in Argentina playing for the domestic league but retired at a very early age of 25 as his interest in coaching took over. He left the playing field and started concentrating more in the technical knowledge of the game.
He took over the job of a head coach at the local team Newell’s Old Boys in 1990 with whom he maintained a 40% win percentage in 97 games. Meanwhile, he was let go by the club because of his attitude and traveled all around the world in search of opportunities.
The Argentine joined Leeds United in 2018 and guided the team towards promotion to the Premier League after a 16-year absence. Meanwhile, last season he helped the team achieve their best finish in the Premier League.
