Following this weekend’s FA Cup final with the sacking rumours, Mauricio Pochettino has been positioned as the bookmakers’ favourite to take over as manager.
Chelsea announced on Tuesday night that Pochettino has left Stamford Bridge with mutual consent after just one season as the team’s manager.
After a challenging season, the 52-year-old appeared to be headed in the right direction as he won the final five league games to finish sixth in the premier league. The 52-year-old was handed the challenging task of rebuilding Chelsea with a young and inexperienced group.
But the one receiving the greatest backing from the betting markets is Kieran McKenna. The manager of Ipswich has also been strongly associated with the positions at Brighton and Chelsea. Considering his background with Manchester United, that link makes perfect sense.
Another one is Roberto De Zerbi. He has recently been linked to Chelsea and Bayern Munich, so United would need to move fast to sign him.
Another one is the well-known Thomas Tuchel. He had spent most of the money in the weeks that followed the news that he would be leaving Bayern in the summer.
He led Chelsea to European titles, providing him with Premier League experience. There are many more contenders so let us have a look at the top favourites.
