Aside from being stripped of the captain role, Harry Maguire’s future at United this summer is also uncertain with West Ham reportedly interested in signing the player.

Just recently, on Sunday afternoon, Harry Maguire took to social media to announce that he had been stripped of the Old Trafford captaincy after serving in the role for three-and-a-half years. The decision came following talks with manager Erik ten Hag.
He tweeted:
After discussions with the manager today he has informed me he is changing captain, He outlined his reasons to me and whilst I’m personally extremely disappointed, I will continue to give my all every time I wear the shirt.
“So I wanted to say a massive thank you to the Manchester United fans for all their brilliant support whilst I’ve been wearing the armband. Since the day I took on the role, three and half years ago, it’s been a huge privilege to lead Manchester United and one of the proudest moments of my career to date.”
Bruno Fernandes clear favourite to succeed Harry Maguire as Man Utd captain
Following the move to strip Maguire as the captain, many bookmarkers have unsurprisingly placed Bruno Fernandes as the clear favourite to succeed the England defender. The Portuguese international is not new to the role having regularly stepped up to captain the team last season.
Manchester United had quite a commendable season in the last campaign ending their six-year trophy drought with Carabao Cup success. The team also secured a Champions League spot following a third-place Premier League finish. However, amidst all this success, Maguire started only 13 times across all competitions under Ten Hag

Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Casemiro is next on the list despite only joining United from Real Madrid last summer.
