John Battsek and Miles Coleman from Ventureland are the producers behind the new Manchester United documentary series. The documentary will also feature additional input from content production companies like Beckham’s Studio 99 and Neville’s Buzz 16. Both are notably owned by former Man Utd players. The ‘99’ documentary showcases Sir Alex Ferguson’s personal drive as he establishes the core of his squad, based on the club’s own academy graduates. Ferguson guides the group of home-grown talents into a historical winning team as they conquer Europe alongside other iconic teammates like captain Roy Keane and their long serving Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.
The docu-series will feature Ferguson’s star-studded team beat their fierce rivals Arsenal to win back the Premier League title from Highbury before they beat Newcastle United in the FA Cup final. The defining moment, however, comes when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scores two incredible goals in injury time for an incredible comeback win over Bayern Munich for the UEFA Champions League title, marking their third European title. The series will also feature various behind-the-scenes footage that fans and viewers can admire.
