The current Premier League winners Manchester City began their treble trophy tour in India. The awards are now in Kochi and will then travel to Mumbai. Mumbai City FC, a City Football Group (CFG) team sister to Manchester City, calls it home.
Manchester City completed a treble last season, becoming the first English team to do it since 1999 following their bitter rival Manchester United. The Blues overcame a deficit to defeat Arsenal and win their third straight Premier League title. In the FA Cup final, City defeated local rival Manchester United 2-1 to win the second trophy of the year.
Finally, the Citizens put an incredible end to it all by winning their first UEFA Champions League, defeating three-time winners Inter Milan 1-0 in the summit match at the Ataturk Stadium. After winning the top title in European club football for the first time in Istanbul, Man City went on to capture an unprecedented triple that year, all thanks to Rodri’s 68th-minute stunning net.
