Both the Manchester City and Leeds United fans were quick to revel in the plight of Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by signing “Ole’s on the dole”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might just go down as the most loved manager to be fired by his club.
Although the Norwegian failed to endear himself to Manchester United fans, he fast became a fan favourite amongst opposing teams. Ole’s tactical ineptness and inability to paper over the cracks saw him and his side be battered by opponents, a plight which other clubs loved to feed on when they took on Manchester United.
Manchester City And Leeds United Fans Sing Ole’s On The Dole
As Manchester United’s thinktank decided it had finally seen enough of Ole and wielded the axe on him, opposition fans came out in full strength to mock both Ole and the club. Just six minutes into their showdown with Everton on Sunday, Manchester City fans were seen singing “Carrick’s at the wheel” in reference to Michael Carrick getting the interim manager role at the club along with “Ole’s on the dole.”
The Leeds United fans had the same chant prepared for their matchup with Tottenham with them also heard bellowing “Carrick’s at the wheel” during the affair. The chant was the only bit of pleasure the Leeds United fans were able to derive from the tie though with them letting go of a 1-0 lead as Tottenham hit back hard come the second half to ease their way to a 2-1 win.
The triumph was Antonio Conte’s first home fixture in charge of the club and also his first win at home. The Italian was previously linked to the Manchester United job.
