The Malaysia Masters is a BWF Super 500 event and a part of the BWF Tour, which begins on Tuesday, 23rd May 2023.

The upcoming event will feature the world’s top players like Viktor Axelsen and Akane Yamaguchi as the top seeds in the Men’s and Women’s Singles.

Meanwhile, PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy and Men’s Doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetyy are set to lead the Indian squad in the tournament.

Malaysia Masters 2023 draws for Indian athletes

Men’s Singles

In the Men’s Singles is Kidambi Srikanth as the only Indian in the first quarter of the draws. The World No.23 will face off against Frenchman Toma Junior Popov and will likely go up against either eighth seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn or Kanta Tsuneyama in the second round.

Meanwhile, HS Prannoy who is India’s top ranked player is placed in the second quarter. The World No.7 however will take on sixth seeded Chou Tien Chen. If Prannoy manages to win, he will likely face either China’s Li Shi Feng or Hong Kong’s Lee Cheuk Yiu.

Aside from the two, Lakshya Sen is the only other Indian player in the Men’s Singles. The World No.22 will first go up against Seventh seed Loh Kean Yew.

Women’s Singles

Saina Nehwal will feature in the upcoming tournament and she is placed in the first quarter of the draw. She will face the top seed and World No.1 player Akane Yamaguchi.

PV Sindhu is the only other Indian player in the Women’s Singles. Sindhu is the sixth seed and placed in the third quarter of the draw. She will face Denmark’s Line Christophersen in the first round.

Fifth seed Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will begin their Malaysia Masters campaign against England’s Ben Lane and Sean Vendy. The Indian duo are placed in the second quarter of the draw and will meet fourth seeded Japanese pair Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi in the quarterfinal.
