Pickleball has grown in popularity among the people of the United States in recent years. The sport has become the fastest growing in the United States, with nearly 4.8 million people participating across the country. Despite the fact that pickleball is a relatively new sport, the number of participants has increased significantly in recent years, allowing the players to earn some money professionally. The yearly earnings of professional pickleball players have been revealed

Without including sponsorships, the average salary for a professional Pickleball player in the United States is $50,201 per year. If sponsorships are factored into annual earnings, players can earn up to $200,000 per year. However, the earnings of the players can differ depending on where they play. For example, players in California, such as San Francisco and Oakland, can earn up to $60,000 per year. However, just like most other athletes, Pickleball players earn most of their money through sponsorships and some players even have earned $80,000 just from the sponsorships.

Prize Money and Major Pickleball Tournaments

The prize money for Pickleball tournaments also varies depending on factors such as hosts, championships, and amateur or professional levels. The Pro Pickleball Association (PPA) organizes tournaments with prize pools ranging from $30,000 to $150,000. The total prize pool for the 16 Professional Pickleball tournaments is $700,000. However, when a player wins, they do not receive a large sum of money. Depending on the level of the tournament, the winners receive $2500, $12,00, or $1,000.

The Major League Pickleball 2022, which will take place in Columbus, Ohio from October 14-16, is one of the sport’s major tournaments. A total of 48 players will compete for the $319,000 prize pool, with the first-place winner receiving a whopping $100,000 cash prize.
