Major Baseball League Most Hated Players 2022 Ranked MLB List

Bryce Harper is no anymore the most despised player in Major League Baseball, according to recent research, a distinction he has proudly held since his debut in 2012, know the 2022 MLB most hated players list

We’ve now had five seasons since the Houston Astros used a trash can pounding plan to steal signs during games, and we’ve had more than two seasons since Major League Baseball punished the Astros. Their punishment, which included seven-figure penalties and the loss of first- and second-round draught selections for a few years, has been completed, and they have paid their duty.

The vitriol directed toward baseball, on the other hand, may never go away. It’s difficult to evaluate how bitter baseball fans are since all we can do in the ballpark is listen to the decibel level of the boos for Jose Altuve. However, the digital sphere DOES help quantify things. And for that, we look to Twitter, where BetOnline.ag recently compiled a list of baseball’s top villains based on all of the harsh tweets against MLB players during the first two months of the season.

Four Astros, as well as two former Astros, made the cut:

The Astros had four players on the list in total. We highlighted Altuve and how ridiculous it is that he is ranked second on this list. Alex Bregman was so despised that he finished 18th. The truth is that Bregman’s poor performance over the previous two seasons (thanks in part to injury) has rendered him less important, and hence less hated. He’d certainly be in the top 10 if he was still putting up MVP numbers like he was in 2019.

Justin Verlander (29th overall) was a pitcher for the 2017 club, not a batter. While Kyle Tucker (28th overall) wasn’t even on the 2017 roster. Correa and Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, who should be considerably higher on this list than 30th overall based solely on being smarmy. And having a voice like Kermit the Frog, are the two former Astros on the list.

First and foremost, let’s not bury the lead. Despite playing for a lovely little second-place team in a mid-level market. Manny Machado has managed to preserve his status as the most despised player on Twitter.

Prior to that, he spent most of his career in Baltimore. Manny, you’re sending out a strong hating vibe there! Despite the fact that most people appear to have come around to the idea that he was not involved in the sign theft issue, Altuve continues to be despised, owing in part to the fact that he is enjoying an All-Star season.
