After finishing his professional training as a young Lieutenant, Anuj got regimental duties such as Adjutant and Platoon Commander just before being appointed as Aide de Camp to the General Officer Commanding 14 RAPID for a period of 13 months.
Major Sood then went on to finish his Junior Command Courses in the Army War College in Mhow and achieved an A+ grade. A year later, he married his love of life Aakriti Singh who was born in Himachal Pradesh and is a software engineer.
She was also a daughter of Navy-Marine Commando and got married to Anuj. In the year 2018, Anuj Sood was assigned to the Rashtriya Rifles 21 in an intense Counter Insurgency environment for security.

Major Anuj Sood was given the nation’s third-highest peacetime gallantry award. He was awarded the ‘Shaurya Chakra’ after his death on January 26th in the year 2021 for his supreme sacrifice and bravery during Operation Chanjimula as he lost his life in saving the country.
