The Madrid Urban Sports 2023 will begin on Friday, 16 to Sunday, 18 June at the Madrid Rio Park, Matadero, Madrid. Participants in the BMX freestyle and breaking competitions will also get to secure qualifying points for Paris 2024.
BMX freestyle at Madrid Urban Sports 2023
BMX freestyle at Madrid Urban Sports 2023 will feature over 70 athletes competing across three categories: men, women, and juniors. Daniel Dhers, the Tokyo 2020 silver medallist, is the big favourite in the men’s competition. Meanwhile, Queensaray Villegas is the favourite in the women’s category. 2021 BMX Freestyle European Championships bronze winner Teresa Fernández-Miranda, will be hoping for a win on home soil.
Breaking at Madrid Urban Sports 2023
With Breaking set to make its debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics next year, teh sport has gained a lot of attraction. The Madrid Urban Sports is also a part of the Breaking for Gold International Series and it will feature some of the world’s top breaking talents.
The competition will feature top-level Bboys like Grazy, JohnnyFox, Xak, Nerup, Lil Dani and Rooty as well as Bgirls like Ana ‘Furia’, Raw Law, Sweet Spicy, Spooky, and Bgirl Lola.
Skateboarding at Madrid Urban Sports 2023
Skateboarding initially made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020, as one of five new sports. The upcoming Madrid Urban Sports 2023 will feature forty-five riders. Local favourite Daniel León, will be making a much-awaited debut. Other top contestants include Facundo Quiroga, Adriel Parmisano, Adrien Bulard and Iván Monteiro.
