Regarding the contentious IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), sparks are still flying. While the pitch prevented much fire from either side with the bat, tempers began to flare much more and heated verbal exchanges began during the game. Long after it, it even continued. After Virat Kohli arrived at the crease to begin batting in the second innings, LSG pacer from Afghanistan Naveen ul Haq spoke to him.

Following Kohli’s return of the ball, LSG spinner Amit Mishra and the umpire had to separate the two. After the match was over, the argument picked up where it left off after it had been put on hold for a while. The LSG pacer became agitated as Kohli appeared to say something this time while shaking hands with Naveen. Before Glenn Maxwell turned him around, he gave it back angrily.
The LSG mentor took the pacer’s side and refused to allow any of his team to speak to Kohli until after they had had an impassioned debate, which quickly devolved into another verbal battle. When Kohli became agitated, LSG captain KL Rahul tried to calm him down and even called Naveen to help, but the pacer acted rudely and left without speaking to Kohli.
Both Virat and Naveen were penalised.
Naveen received a 50% fine, while Kohli and Gambhir received 100% match money penalties. Following Kohli, Naveen also posted a mysterious message that appeared to be making fun of the former RCB captain. “You receive what you merit. That’s how it ought to be and how things operate, he wrote.
Naveen was one of the best players for LSG, taking three wickets on a surface that was conducive to spin. The 126 total from RCB, however, turned out to be successful as none of the LSG batters offered any opposition as they were outscored by 18 runs.
