The MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai in named after Muthiah Annamalai Chidambaram. Muthiah is a former BCCI and Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) president.
The stadium was originally known as the Madras Cricket Club Ground when it was established. It is also commonly known as Chepauk due to its location around the area name Chepauk in Chennai.
The stadium is located adjacent to the Marina beach in Chennai, and at the shores of the Bay of Bengal. It will serve as the home of IPL side Chennai Super Kings. The Yellow Army will play all of their home matches here in front of the home crowd after a long gap of over four years.
