The venue is commonly called the KSCA Stadium, it is five decades old and located besides the iconic Cubbon Park.

The KSCA is one of the ten host venues at the upcoming competition and will first host the clash between former champions – Pakistan and Australia on October 20.
Originally named the Karnataka State Cricket Association Stadium, the ground was eventually renamed after M Chinnaswamy, who was the president of the Indian board from 1977 until 1980. Mangalam Chinnaswamy Mudaliar (29 March 1900 – 8 November 1991) was a cricket administrator and lawyer.

Aside from the Pakistan vs Australia clash on October 20, the stadium will host the following group-stage matches:
- Australia vs Pakistan
- England vs Sri Lanka
- New Zealand vs Pakistan
- New Zealand vs Sri Lanka
- India vs Netherlands
While four of the matches will be day and night games, one of them will be a day game.
M Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru previous matches
So far, the M. Chinnaswamy stadium has hosted some of the highest-scoring innings. The stadium saw Kevin O’Brien scored the fastest hundred in an ODI World Cup in 2011, in just 50 balls. The M Chinnaswamy stadium also served as the home for the National Cricket Academy ever since 2000.
Aside from that, it also serves as the home ground to Karnataka state teams and IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. Up until now, the venue has hosted about 58 international matches and many IPL matches. It has also previously hosted seven World Cup matches in the past. Ever since the 2011 World Cup, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium has hosted just three ODI matches with the last match between India vs Australia in 2020.
