Production on the film starring Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua has wrapped and it was speculated that the release would occur during the first three months of 2023 on SVOD powerhouse Netflix.
Lust Stories had a successful run and was nominated for two Emmys in 2019 in the Best TV Movie/Mini-Series and the Best Drama Series categories and will release on June 29, 2023.
The Cast of Lust Stories 2
Like Lust Stories, the new anthology will reportedly consist of four short films, all of which will be directed by well-known figures in Bollywood. Kajol, a 90s movie star, joining the cast also raised expectations.
Tamannaah Bhatia of “Baahubali” fame is rumored to be the main attraction in Sujoy Ghosh’s chapter of this anthology film. She will be starring opposite Vijay Varma, who rose to fame alongside Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah in the Netflix black comedy film Darlings.
For his part, “Badhaai Ho” director Amit Ravindernath Sharma has signed Kajol, and “Wake Up Sid” directors Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash have cast “Wake Up Sid” star Konkona Sen Sharma.

It has also been claimed that R. Balki, director of films like Cheeni Kum, Paa, Shamitabh, Padman, etc., has cast Mrunal Thakur, who charmed fans in the Telugu period romantic drama Sita Ramam (2022), opposite Angad Bedi in the segment. Neena Gupta will be an integral component of his section of the anthology as well.

Following 2013’s Bombay Talkies, the anthology series continued with 2015’s Lust Stories. Among the most anticipated OTT releases of 2023 is Ghost Stories, the third anthology film following Lust Stories and True Stories.
After about four to five years have passed since the release of Lust Stories, a four-film anthology helmed by Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar, the sequel, Lust Stories 2, will make its debut.
