Luke Shaw Injury Update, News, Report And Return Date: Manchester United Defender Recovering After Suffering Head Injury

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw picked up a head injury during their Premier League clash against Liverpool, know his update and return date

Luke Shaw was taken off the pitch during the Manchester Derby that took place on 6th November, Friday. The match ended with City emerging victorious, having beaten United 2-0.

Shaw suffered a blow to the head at the hands of Man City star Rodri, which resulted in the 26-year old experiencing a concussion. However, the English left-back was initially given an all-clear to carry on by the Manchester United medics after he sustained the injury.

It was only after the concussion occurred that Shaw was forced off the pitch. The back of Shaw’s head was apparently elbowed by Rodri which led to him getting harmed. He ended up suffering another head injury against Watford with fears of concussion seeing him being withdrawn from the encounter.

Luke Shaw Injury Update, News, Report And Return Date

Shaw is still following the concussion protocols after he picked up the head injury against Manchester City. He even missed the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino even though he was initially included in the England squad for the duration of the international break. But because he was at home still recovering, Shaw’s return was delayed.

“Luke has got very strict guidelines on concussion markers, the first day he didn’t pass the markers so that gets shifted back. We’ve got to follow the guidelines on that, we might run out of time, we’ll just see,” said Gary Southgate, England head coach

While he managed to return against Watford, he looks likely to not return to training for some more weeks, unless he passes the concussion markers. The passing of these markers will only determine a specific date by which Man United can promise that their English left-back will return.
