Who Is Luciano Spalletti?

Luciano Spalletti is a well-known Italian football manager and a former player. He now serves as the head coach of the Italian Serie A club Napoli. He has been in the news because his team recently defeated Cremonese by 4-1.

He was born on 7 March 1959 in Certaldo, Italy. He holds Italian nationality.

He is married. However, nothing much is known about his spouse. He also has three children and their names are Federico Spalletti, Samuele Spalletti, and Matilda Spalletti

His height was 1.80 m or 5 ft 11 inches. He is currently 63 years old.

His Career

In his mid-20s, Luciano Spalletti began playing football on a semi-pro level. He managed to play for various Serie C teams, including Entella, Spezia, Viareggio, and Empoli, despite being quite elderly for a professional debut.

After playing lower-level football in Italy for over ten years, he retired in 1993 and continued to teach at Empoli. After Empoli, he served as the head coach of Venezia from July 1999 to October 1999 and Sampdoria from July 1998 through June 1999.

He was also Udinese and Ancona’s coach. He finally took over as Roma’s coach in June 2005 where he got his actual credit for what he did with the team. Eventually, he was named Serie A Coach of the Year at the conclusion of 2006.

Spalletti’s three-year contract to play for Zenit Saint Petersburg in the Russian Premier League was officially announced in December 2009. There, he also accomplished several wonders. However, he was fired on March 10, 2014, following three seasons without a trophy.
