India defeated Australia in the second test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy by a margin of six wickets with Venkatesh Prasad and Aakash Chopra having a go at each other on Twitter

In both innings of the game, Indian opener KL Rahul went out for cheap runs. In the Delhi Test match, he scored 17 and 1 run.

Aakash Chopra, a former Indian batter, responded to Venkatesh Prasad, a veteran Indian cricketer, who had tweeted about KL Rahul. Prasad had criticised the team management for continuing to give Rahul chances despite his repeated failures in test matches.

Venkatesh Prasad has bashed KL Rahul.

In light of KL Rahul’s ongoing failures in white ball cricket, Prasad questioned Rahul’s place in the team. The veteran said that KL Rahul is highly regarded by him, but unhappily, his performances have fallen far short of expectations. After 46 tests and more than 8 years, an international cricket team’s test average of 34 is considered average.

He can’t think of many people who have had this many opportunities, especially when there are so many capable candidates standing by. According to former Indian bowler Prasad, Shubhman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan should be given a chance before Rahul. The youngsters are in outstanding form and have been getting plenty of runs in FC games.

Rahul has participated in 47 test matches for the Men in Blue, and in the white ball format, he has scored 2642 runs at an average of 33.44 with 7 tonnes. Rahul, 30, made his team India debut against Australia in Melbourne in 2014.

To make matters worse, Rahul has been chosen to serve as vice-captain. Ashwin should serve as vice-captain in the Test format because he is a brilliant cricketer. If not him, Pujara or Jadeja should step forward. In Test matches, Mayank Agarwal and Vihari both contributed far more than Rahul did, according to former Indian coach Prasad.

Favouritism was a factor in Rahul’s selection rather than performance. Although being around for eight years, Rahul has a history of being unreliable and has failed to turn potential into performances. Even when they perceive such favouritism, a lot of ex-cricketers don’t speak up, he continued.

Chopra has hit back at Prasad for his comments and timing.

” Venky Bhai, Test match chal raha hai. Consider at least waiting until the end of both innings. We are all members of Team India, the same team. I’m not requesting that you keep your opinions to yourself, but the timing could be a bit better. After all, timing is the key to our game,โ€ according to former Indian opener Chopra.

Before the third day of the Delhi test match started, V. Prasad tweeted that the Australian team had been dismissed by the Indian bowling unit for 113 runs. With 118 runs scored and 4 wickets lost, the Indian team won the match. Off-spinner Lyon dismissed opener Rahul for one run. On March 1st, the Rohit Sharma-led team will play the Baggy Greens in Indore’s third test of the four-test series.
