The injury to big players regularly has been an issue and the trade of Russell Westbrook hasn’t had much impact on the results. LeBron James still acts a power horse in the Lakers decisions and soon we could see Frank Vogel getting his exit papers from the Lakers management.
Los Angeles Lakers New Head Coach Favorites, Predictions Of Names To Take Over From Frank Vogel In The NBA
Kenny Atkinson
Atkinson is always considered as the top developmental coaches in the league. He could be a perfect pick to the veteran sqaud like the Lakers. Atkinson is currently with the Golden State Warriors team and he is open for a position of a head coach if it is for grasp.
During his stint with the Brooklyn Nets way back in 2018-2019 season where he turned the dormant Nest squad into a team which reached the playoffs. His strategy of handling the defense is what makes him a suitable pick for Head Coach of the Lakers.
Dwane Cassey
The Detroit Pistons head coach has not had much success with the pistons and he is expected to leave the team this post season. Cassey can be a perfect fit as the Head coach of the Lakers due to his experience. He likes teams to play with paces and he values the corner 3 point shooters which could benefit Russell Westbrook.
In the half court offense he follows the Drive and Kick strategy. With LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook who can drive the opponents defense towards the rim and make it an open shot for the 3 point shooters. With two good three point shooters and the trio the Lakers can become a deadly team under Dwane Cassey.
Steve Clifford
Clifford is one of the guys who has 8 years of experience as a head coach and 20 years of experience on an NBA bench. He could be a perfect hire for th Lakers considering his clamness and the building of the roster for the Lakers for the seasons to come.
Steve Clifford led the Charlotte Hornets to two Play-off seasons In his five year stint with the franchise. He also helped the Orland Magic team to reach the post season in each of his first two seasons. He has a huge respect around the league which is needed when coaching Big players like LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook.
Sam Cassell
Cassell has been around as an assistant coach for almost 13 years and it shouldn’t take him much time to get an opportunity as the head coach of the Lakers. Sam Cassell he himself has been a player in the league for 15 seasons which is a lot of experience in the league.
Most recently Cassell was almost finalised for the assistant coach role at the Lakers before they settled with Tyronn Lue to head the ship. Cassell is currently working under Doc Rivers as the assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers.
He could be a perfect pick considering his friendly nature towards the players which gives the team that additional edge over others in the roster.
Quin Snyder
For a team like the Lakers they need a coach who can take the team to the playoffs and Snyder has been doing it for the Jazz. He has led the Jazz to their 6th consecutive playoff. The team has also won more than 50 games in a season three times during his stint. The Lakers manager Rob Pelinka and co will have close look at Snyder.
The rift between Snyder’s two most successful players Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert is a concern which could lead to Snyder looking for a new team if he does so after having eight successful seasons with the Utah Jazz. He would be a perfect pick for the Lakers considering their poor run of form and the Lakers were able to make it to the playoffs only twice in the last nine seasons.
