On September 15, 2022, Netflix released Sins Of Our Mother.
The three-part television series depicts the tale of Lori and her children Tylee Ryan and Joshua Jackson “JJ” Vallow, who vanished in 2019.
According to USA Today, Tylee, Lori’s 16-year-old biological daughter with her ex-husband Joseph Ryan, vanished on September 8, 2019, following a trip to Yellowstone National Park with her family.
Seven-year-old JJ, whom Lori and her deceased ex-husband Charles Vallow had adopted, was last seen on September 23 at Rexburg’s Kennedy Elementary School in Idaho before his mother called the school to have him removed and announced that he would be home-schooled according to KSL News.
After growing worries about the children’s whereabouts in November 2019, police questioned Lori and her new spouse Chad. JJ, according to the couple, was staying in Arizona with relatives.
When officers phoned the relative and were informed that JJ wasn’t living there, alarm bells rang. While everything was going on, Lori and Chad abruptly fled their Rexburg, Idaho, homes.
Lori was detained in Hawaii in February 2020 and accused of abandoning her dependent children and failing to provide for them.
However, the investigation took a sinister turn when Tylee and JJ’s corpses were found inside Chad’s house in June 2020, according to East Idaho News.
Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, Lori and Chad’s ex-spouses, both passed away, adding to the case’s already complex levels of complexity.
LORI VALLOW DAYBELL HAS HAD HOW MANY HUSBANDS?
Lori, 49, is a five-time bride. In 1992, when she was 19 years old, she tied the knot with her high school sweetheart, Nelson James. But after a year, their relationship deteriorated, and they split up.
William Lagioia, Lori’s second husband, was 23 when they wed in Travis County, Texas, in 1995. Colby, a boy, was born to the couple in 1996, however their marriage failed and they divorced in 1998.

Lori was hitched to Joseph Anthony Ryan Jr. in 2001, marking her third marriage. Ryan legally adopted Colby when Lori and Ryan had their own daughter, Tylee, in 2002. The divorce, which was completed in 2005, occurred after the marriage failed once more. According to Fox 10 Phoenix, Ryan passed away in 2018 following a heart attack.
When Lori wed Charles Vallow in February 2006, she became a mother for the fourth time. They also adopted a son named JJ. The marriage lasted the longest out of all of Lori’s relationships; it lasted for 13 years when Charles passed away in July 2019 after being shot by Lori’s brother Alex Cox in an incident that was deemed to be self-defense.
Then, in November 2019, Lori got married again to her current husband, Chad.
Even though they are still married, Chad and Lori are accused of first-degree murder in the deaths of Tammy Daybell, Chad’s ex-wife, Tylee Ryan, and JJ Vallow, who passed away just two weeks before their 2019 wedding.
WHAT HAPPENED TO LORI VALLOW DAYBELL?
Lori Vallow Daybell is being held by the Fremont County Sheriff in Idaho as of September 2022. While she awaits her trial on many counts of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
After being detained in Hawaii in 2020, Vallow Daybell was extradited to Idaho. And lodged in the Madison County Jail as she awaited trial.
According to ABC News, Lori was committed to a mental health facility in May 2021. After an Idaho judge determined she was incompetent to stand trial. In April 2022, she was competent to stand trial and was released.
Both Lori and Chad have entered not guilty pleas to the murder charges. And their case will be prosecuted concurrently. Currently, the study is slated to start on January 9 and last for ten weeks in 2023.
If Lori and Chad were found guilty, the prosecution would ask for the death penalty.
Sins Of Our Mother was released on September 14, 2022, and is presently streaming on Netflix.
