A heartbreaking incident from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, has sent shockwaves across the nation as a woman was r*ped on a busy street while bystanders chose to film the assault instead of intervening with the rap* case video clip now viral
The now-viral videos were subsequently shared on social media and quickly went viral online. The tragic incident took place on Wednesday afternoon in the Koyla Phatak area.

The tragic incident took place in Koyla Phatak area, which is one of the busiest areas of the cityโs intersections. Reportedly, the accused is identified as Lokesh, who was later apprehended by the authorities.
As per the counts given by the authorities, the survivor, identified as a ragpicker, had met Lokesh in the area. He lured her under the pretense of marriage and convinced her to follow him.
Lokesh reportedly, persuaded the victim to drink alcohol. Once she was intoxicated, he allegedly took her to a roadside shelter, where he r*ped her.

What Did the Eyewitness Say?
An eyewitness who watched the entire heartbreaking incident captured the assualt on camera and shared it online instead of intervening and helping the woman. Meanwhile, the accused Lokesh fled the scene after threatening the victim.
Although, many netizens are criticizing the act done by the eye witness, however, the viral video has helped the authorities locate the survivor, who was later brought to the police station.
After she gave the information, a case was registered against Lokesh and the investigators used the viral video to identify and eventually arrest him.
The alleged incident has sparked a political uproar, with the opposition parties including Congress blaming the ruling BJP for declining law and order in the state.

Later, the official X/Twitter account of Madhya Pradesh Congress, took to the platform and shared the video, captioning, โUjjain, the sacred city, is once again shamed. Those in power should either die of shame or resign.โ
Meanwhile, the Chief of the State Congress, Jitu Patwari took to X and penned, that the โholy city of Ujjain is tarnished.โ His viral post further reads that, โr*pes are now happening in broad daylight in MP, on open streets.โ
He further exclaimed that โthis is only possible when the law and government completely disappear.โ
