Ibrahima Konaté absence is surely a bitter pill for Liverpool fans to swallow, especially considering the injury occurred in the dying seconds of their game against Real Madrid.
With a packed schedule ahead, losing such a key player for an extended period only compounds the disappointment. What makes the situation even more frustrating is the nature of the incidents leading up to the injury.
A compilation shared by X user @KonateFC highlights three separate fouls by Real Madrid’s Endrick on Konaté in the final minutes of the game, long after the result was beyond doubt.
The footage, accompanied by the caption, “This is Endrick fouling Konaté on 3 separate occasions with absolutely no desire to get the ball.
“All coming in the last 9 minutes when the game was done & dusted. It’s hard to think that Endrick had good intentions,” raised questions about the 18-year-old’s motives.
The challenges appeared reckless, if not deliberate, leaving Liverpool without their in-form defender just as he was receiving widespread praise for his stellar performance against Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Meanwhile, Liverpool fans directed their anger towards Endrick’s way by racially abusing him for Konate’s injury on his Instagram account.

Konaté’s absence is a significant blow ahead of the crucial showdown with Manchester City, a match that presents Liverpool with the opportunity to extend their lead over the reigning champions to 11 points.
However, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Jarell Quansah available, along with manager Arne Slot’s tactical nous, there is still hope for the Reds to stifle Pep Guardiola’s attacking threat.
What Did Ibrahima Konaté Say?
