The reigning champion Naomi Osaka has just dropped down by four ranks after losing to Amanda Anisimova on the Day 5 of the Australian Open of the WTA rankings 2022

1- Ashleigh Barty

Popularly known as Ash Barty who recently is in the fourth round of the Australian Open tournament. The Australian grabbed this position by defeating Julia Görges in the year 2019 winning the Nature Valley Classic (Birmingham) title.

With her stunning performance since then, including two Grand Slams, she won at the singles namely the 2019 French Open and the 2021 Wimbledon. She also won one doubles Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2018.

2- Aryna Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka is a Belarussian tennis professional who is ranked number two as her career-high ranking by WTA. Sabalenka won two Grand Slams, the 2019 US Open and 2020 Australian Open in doubles and is ranked World Number One in Women’s doubles.

She managed to reach the semifinals of the Wimbledon and the US Open in 2020 and survived a 15-match winning streak as she won the J&T Banka Ostrava Open, the Upper Austria Ladies Linz and the Abu Dhabi WTA Women’s Tennis Open across 2020 and 2021 to secure the rank.

3- Garbine Muguruza

The 28-year-old Garbin Muguruza is a two-time Grand Slam champion. She, unfortunately, was crashed out of the ongoing Australian Open. Muguruza was ranked third for the first time in 2018.

The Spaniard secured the third rank after her victory in the season-ending WTA Finals in Guadalajara.

4- Barbora Krejcikova

The 26-year-old Czech professional had a career-high ranking of World No. Three. Krejcikova won three titles among which, one was a Grand Slam at the 2021 Roland Garros tournament.

5- Karolina Pliskova

29-year-old Czech professional is a former World Number One.

Karolina reached the finals of the Wimbledon 2021 but got defeated by Ash Barty. Ending as a runner-up lifted Pliskova 15 spots to number five.

6- Paula Badosa

The 24-year-old Spaniard reached the fourth round of the Australian Open for the first time on Friday.

Following multiple triumphs, she reached the quarterfinals of the French Open in 2021 for the first time. Advanced to the second week of the Wimbledon, won the title at the Indian Wells.

7- Anett Kontaveit

The 26-year-old Estonian professional reached her best No. 7 rankings on 15th November, 2021. Kontaveit reached the semifinals of the Sydney Classic event and ended the 2021 season with four WTA titles.

8- Maria Sakkari

Maria Sakkari is a 26-year-old Greek professional. She reached the round of 16 at the Adelaide International tournament.

Played in the semifinals of the French Open and US Open in 2021 and is currently in the fourth round of the Australian Open 2022.

9- Iga Swiatek

Poland’s 20-year-old Iga Swiatek in the middle of 2021season won WTA 1000 title for the first time in Rome to go ahead six spots ahead at number nine.

10- Ons Jabeur

The 27-year-old Tunisian had her career-high ranking at number 7. In October, she became the first tennis player from Arab to grab the World No. 10 spot. She reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon and semifinals of the Indian Wells the previous year.
