Claudia Pechstein

Claudia, with the age of 49, is a German speed skater eighth Winter Olympics in Beijing this year. Pechstein is now officially the oldest female to take part in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. She began her career in speed skating career in East Germany even before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Claudia’s played her first Olympic Games during the 1992 Winter Olympics that held in Albertville.

Recently, Claudia became the only woman to participate in the eight Winter Games. All through these years, Claudia has secured five gold medals to her name in the 3,000 and 5,000-meter skate events. She has nine Olympic medals overall to her name.

Jennifer Jones

Jennifer, now 47 is one of the longest-serving athletes for team Canada in Women’s curling. Jones is a twice world champion, has six national champions to her name, and has an Olympic gold as the captain during the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

Silvana Tirinzoni

At 42 years of age Tirinzoni is the oldest member of Team Switzerland and is paving a way for a team of women named “Team Tirinzoni”  way back to the Winter Olympics to represent Switzerland in the Beijing 2022 Olympics. Silvana is one of the highly decorated curlers with impressive performances all these years. She has one world championship medal to her name from 2019, a European silver medal from 2018, and a five-time Swiss championship title to her records.

Nick Baumgartner

Nick Baumgartner, the 40-year-old Michigan native is the snowboard cross Olympian who officially etched his name into the records by being the oldest member of Team USA. It is Nick’s fourth time participating in the Winter Olympics. Nick’s first gold medal came from the mixed team Snowboard cross along with Lindsey Jacobellis.

John Shuster

John Shuster, aged 39 is one of the oldest athletes in the Winter Olympics. He is a part of Team USA curler has an eye of a tiger for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. John along with his team clinched their very first ever Olympic gold was during the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy, but could not manage the same amount of success during the last three Winter Games.

Surprisingly, the 39-year-old Shuster along with his team was placed at the last position during the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. But John didn’t give up hope so easily rather stated, “When your back is against the wall, that’s where your character really shows,” encouraging his team.

Steve Nyman

The 39-year-old Steve who is a part of the U.S ski team lives in the mountains of Jackson, Wyoming has an affection for the mountains. He started skiing at a very young and tender age of 2 and, started racing at the age of 8. Though he has no medal to his name yet but has been targeted for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Eric Staal

The 37-year-old who belongs to the Canadian Men’s hockey team. Though Staal wasn’t sure about his participation in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics due to covid restrictions but Staal was called up again by the Canadian team administration to be the centerman of the team.

Lindsey Jacobellis

Lindsey Jacobellis, 36 years of age, is an American snowboarder who is from Roxbury in Connecticut. Lindsey is considered as one of the most decorated female snowboard cross athletes of all time as she has been dominating the sport for almost two decades with the title of five-time World Champion and ten-time X Games champion.

In 2006, during her Olympic debut at the Winter Olympics in Turin, She clinched the silver medal in the snowboard as she ended the game on the note of the course with a 43-meter, three-second lead over Tanja Frieden of Switzerland in the gold medal final but failed to achieve any medal at the next three following Olympics before she won gold at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Shaun White

Shaun, 35 years, is a Former American snowboarder who has Olympic gold medals to his name in the halfpipe event during 2006, 2010, and 2018 Winter Olympics. During the 2006 Winter Olympics, Shaun clinched the gold in the half-pipe sporting event. White clinched his third consecutive snowboard halfpipe medal during the 2008 U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships, along with his third US Open slopestyle event.

Post these wins, White won at the 25th in 2007 Burton US Open, where he clinched the slopestyle and first in the halfpipe. During the 2007 Open, White was clinched the first “Burton Global Open Champion”.

Mariah Bell

Mariah Bell at the age of 25 is the oldest figure skater in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics ever since 1928. Maria is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and has another record to her name of being the oldest U.S. National Champion in figure skating in 94 years, by winning her place in early January.

Mariah was into skating from the age of three along with her sister who is also a figure skater. Bell is trained under the experienced eyes of Adam Rippon, the former Olympic figure skater. Rippon helps her train and choreographs her numbers for the games to music by Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and Celine Dion, he told NBC News.
