Due to injury or other personal reasons, many players from various franchises have decided to withdraw from the IPL 14 phase 2 2021, know who are not available
During the stretch between May to September, everything has changed. From venues to dates and lives of players. IPL 2021’s second leg which is to be held in UAE is to commence from 19th September.
But right before phase 2 a lot of key players of their franchises have opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons. Many franchises have suffered a significant setback as a result of their key players opting out of the lucrative event.
IPL 2021 Players Not Available And Missing: Why Have These Names Withdrawn From Leg 2
Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler, the star opener and wicket-keeper batsman for Rajasthan Royals, has declined to play in the IPL’s second phase owing to personal concerns, he and his wife are expecting their second child. Glenn Phillip, a hard-hitting Kiwi batsman, has taken Buttler’s spot in the Rajasthan Royals. Jos Buttler is a key member of the side and we may see him back in pinks in the next season.
Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins Australian pace bowler and a handy batsman also opted out of the tournament. Hey plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders and is a key asset. He is expecting his first child to be born in that period and he doesn’t want to miss the special feeling. The Australian has a humongous impact on the side and he will be missed. No replacements have been made yet but the side will surely do one.
Adam Zampa
Adam Zampa, the Australian leg-spinner who plays in the IPL for Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore, will also miss the second phase of the tournament. He chose to pull out of the IPL after being picked in the Australian T20 World Cup squad. Wanindu Hasaranga, a Sri Lankan, has taken Zampa’s spot in the RCB squad.
Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith
The two who played for Punjab Kings in the IPL, have declined to participate in the tournament’s 14th season’s phase 2. They are both unfit, according to the press conference, and will thus miss the second phase. Punjab Kings have replaced them with Nathan Ellis, a young Australian cricketer who has been called up to the national squad as a Twenty20 World Cup travel reserve.
Daniel Sams
The RCB all-rounder has withdrawn from the IPL 2021 Phase 2 due to mental health concerns. He played 2 matches for the team scoring just 6 runs and just taking a wicket. He has been replaced by Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera who was named the player of the series in the recent series against India in Sri Lanka.
Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer
Both England’s top players have opted not to play for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2021 Phase 2 season. Due to an elbow injury, Jofra Archer was being forced out of cricket for the next year. Meanwhile, Ben Stokes, one of the finest all-rounders in the game, has taken a break from cricket indefinitely owing to mental health issues.
Finn Allen
Finn Allen of RCB withdrew his name from the IPL after being picked in the New Zealand team that will visit Pakistan and Bangladesh. He has been replaced by Australian decent Singaporean cricketer Tim David who also becomes the first Singaporean to play in the IPL.
