On October 9, the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 10) auction for the tenth season began in Mumbai. Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, the most expensive player in the League.
Pawan Sehrawat has successfully defended his title as the most expensive player in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) after Telugu Titans acquired his services for an astounding Rs 2.60 crore at the auctions.
List of the most expensive player in PKL history and players price in 2023
Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh, an Iranian, had previously held the record for being the most expensive player, having been purchased by Puneri Paltan for Rs 2.35 crore in category A, before Sehrawat reclaimed it.
Meanwhile, Sehrawat was acquired by Tamil Thalaivas at Rs 2.26 crore for the ninth PKL season. The Haryana Steelers, UP Yoddhas, Telugu Titans, and Bengaluru Bulls, among other teams, competed in a bidding war for Sehrawat this year. His importance was increased by his pivotal involvement in India’s triumph over Iran in the Asian Games final, which led to the team winning the gold medal.
Two additional players were signed for more than two million dollars each: Bengal Warriors utilised their FBM Card to keep Maninder Singh for Rs. 2.12 crore, while Puneri Paltan signed Mohammadreza Shadlou for Rs. 2.31 crore.
The ninth season of the PKL was won by the Jaipur Pink Panthers. The Abhishek Bachchan-owned team earned their second PKL championship after winning the league’s inaugural campaign.
