Lahore’s National Hockey Stadium
The largest hockey stadium in the world is the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan. It can hold roughly 45,000 spectators.
The location, also known as the Gaddafi Hockey Stadium, welcomed guests in 1982. It is a component of the Nishtar Sports Complex, which also houses the Punjab Athletics Stadium and Gaddafi Cricket Stadium.
One of the top locations in the nation for the sport has been the National Hockey Stadium. It served as the venue for every game in the 1990 Men’s Hockey World Cup, in which Pakistan lost to the Netherlands in the championship game.
The location features a tiny hockey ground near the Pakistan Hockey Federation office, which is housed there.

The second-largest field hockey stadium in the world is located in Los Angeles, California and is a multi-use facility. There are 22,355 seats available at once.
The stadium, which was once known as the East Los Angeles College Stadium, is mostly used for American football, soccer, and athletics. The 1984 Olympics’ men’s and women’s hockey competitions were held at Weingart Stadium. The Dutch took first place in the women’s tournament, while Pakistan won the gold in the men’s competition.
Weingart Stadium served as a filming set for major Hollywood productions like Forrest Gump, Goal!, and Viva Knievel in addition to being one of the top sporting venues in the USA.
Odisha’s Birsa Munda International Hockey Arena
The Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium, one of the biggest hockey stadiums in India, is situated in the steel city of Rourkela, Odisha, and has a capacity of over 20,000 spectators.
The stadium, which will serve as the second site for the quadrennial event alongside Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, which has seating for about 15,000 spectators, was created exclusively for the 2023 men’s hockey World Cup. On 15 acres of land on the Biju Patnaik University of Technology campus, the Birsa Munda Stadium was constructed. It has a swimming pool, a gym, and a tunnel that connects the locker room to the practice field.
Among the biggest hockey arenas in the globe were others like Riverbank Arena (15,000) in the United Kingdom and Olympic Green Hockey Field (17,000) in China. Following the 2012 London Olympics and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, respectively, both of these venues were reduced in size.
