Its origin is traced back to India with Queen Elizabeth II being the current owner of the diamond. However, following the death of the Queen, the title of the Owner of the Diamond might be transferred to King Charles.

Following the Kohinoor, Sancy diamond is said to be the most expensive diamond. Though, its origin is also traced back to India.
However currently the shield-shaped modified brilliant cut diamond is owned by the Louvre museum located in Paris, France.
